Bedwetting For Older Kids
Bedwetting is a serious problem for some of the older children too
and their parents should really take notice of this issue. Studies have
shown that only 5% of kids wet their beds and the other 95% sleep easy
and will never have to worry about this problem. Kids who do wet their
beds show no physical symptoms and it’s purely a somewhat embarrassing
stage which they must go through as children. You should be happy to
know that this problem will simply fade away on its own and through no
intervention from the child or its parent. It’s a fairly safe
assumption that life is difficult for those who cannot stay dry at
night.
There are many popular treatments for
bedwetting and the most popular treatment being the
wetting alarm, which consists of a sensor that detects moisture and
wakes up the child just in time to rush off to the toilet and avoid
making a mess. After using this equipment for a specific and perhaps a
long period of time these alarms provide awareness that stops the
child from wetting his/her bed in the future. The only drawback is as I
mentioned before that the process of rehabilitation can be a little
time consuming. Developing enough awareness to wake up before they wet
their bed can take some time.
Other methods to stop bedwetting include specific hormones and drugs
subscribed by a doctor or a pediatrician. Although these drugs only fix
the existing condition, many of the parents are not willing to give
drugs again and again to their young ones because they believe strongly
that such drugs have many side effects.
There are many safe and effective methods available too but remember
every child is unique and if one treatment happens to work on one child
it does not necessarily mean that it’ll work on the rest.
